Robyn Jin / Palimpsest of Breath

Robyn Jin’s practice centers on action oil painting. Intimate and playful in approach, her process is guided by gesture, with marks moving across the canvas in a rhythmic choreography. Through abstraction, she traces memories of those rare moments when our inner and outer worlds come into quiet alignment.

Drawing inspiration from solitude and close observation of nature’s ephemeral light, movement, and textures, she explores the subtle resonance between what stirs within us and what unfolds around us. It is within this meeting point that she finds a sense of calm, connection, and enduring comfort.

Robyn Jin's Fondo Series explores the terrain beneath perception. Fondo refers both to an interior psychological space and to the material history of each painting. The shifting territory behind the eyes, the hidden layers beneath the visible surface, and the subconscious identity.
